Meet Dr. Gregory Thompson, DO
Dr. Thompson is the founder and medical director of Southeastern Institute for Restorative Medicine, where he provides personalized, restorative care rooted in both medical science and clinical experience. As a board-certified family medicine physician, Dr. Thompson brings decades of frontline medical practice together with a modern, patient-centered approach designed to address the root causes of health concerns—not just their symptoms.
Over time, Dr. Thompson recognized a recurring challenge in conventional healthcare: patients were often treated quickly, reactively, and with limited attention to underlying causes. This realization shaped the philosophy behind Southeastern Institute for Restorative Medicine. Today, his practice focuses on restorative, regenerative, and aesthetic medicine—leveraging evidence-based therapies, functional medicine principles, and careful diagnostic evaluation to support long-term health, vitality, and quality of life.
After earning his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Thompson completed his internship and residency in family medicine at Waterville Osteopathic Hospital. He went on to practice as an emergency room physician and later built and led a successful family medicine practice, caring for patients across a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.
Patients at Southeastern Institute for Restorative Medicine can expect a level of care that is increasingly rare: unhurried consultations, careful listening, and treatment plans tailored to the individual—not a template. Dr. Thompson takes pride in providing focused attention, clear guidance, and a partnership-driven approach that helps patients feel informed, respected, and confident in their care.
In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Thompson spent more than a decade teaching and mentoring medical students in Tennessee and Alabama. This experience sharpened his commitment to thoughtful, methodical care and staying current with evolving medical research—values that remain central to his clinic today.
He welcomes both new and returning patients who are seeking a more comprehensive, attentive, and results-oriented approach to health, wellness, and aesthetics.
